# 12 - Bag it, Tag it, sell to the butcher in the store...

I have used del.icio.us before and to be quite honest I have not found it to be all that useful to me personally. I mainly do work on my personal computer and still use "my favorites" to tag important websites.
Having said that, if I had a home network with multiple computers I could see myself using it more because I could find my favorites on both computers.

In the library I could see us using it as a way to keep recommended websites easily accessible.

Rollyo

I think Rollyo could be very useful for putting together legitimate sites to search. The first thing that comes to mind would be a grouping of medical sites or local area information.

I created a group of websites in order to search for live music in Richmond. Here's the link...

Hear ye, Hear ye!

More RSS Feeds

I actually have never used any of the blog search sites before! I found that Topix was the easiest to use and I was able to find better results that more closely related to my search terms.

I mostly read mystery (when I get the chance) and by doing a search for "book reviews" I came across a great blog about mysteries that I thought I woud share!

LibraryThing

Hi everyone,
This is the first time that I had looked at LibraryThing. I think it is a lot of fun and a great way to talk about books. I uploaded my LibraryThing library to my profile, these are some of my favorite books! I found it easy to use and the blog was interesting!

RSS Feeds

Here's my Feed that I created...http://www.bloglines.com/public/Jaime-blog

I have used RSS feeds a lot for my classes. Instead of getting an email everyday I subscribe to the feeds. It is more convenient to have all of the information in one place and it also keeps my email from piling up. Another benefit to RSS feeds is there is not this long, drawn out process in order to unsubscribe, you just delete it!
I think it could be used in the library by the library simply having a feed that would be available to patrons that has information about upcoming programs, staff recommends, or info about our databases.
Two great feeds that have to do with libraries that have some great ideas are "The Shifted Librarian" and "YPulse".

MySpace

Here's the MySpace page of one of my favorite bands...http://www.myspace.com/davematthewsband.

I like MySpace! I know that sometimes these social networking sites get a lot of bad press, but I have a MySpace page and it has allowed me to find a lot of friends from high school and college that I had lost touch with! It is entertaining and because I have a MySpace page I understand why teens enjoy it so much, it is fun to be creative and create your own space that reflects who you are!
